Hello Forum Club Members,
Montgomery Bell Academy uses 34 Lanes of HS10 targets. 25 lanes are equipped with ATE10 target lifters for 3-Position Air Rifle and are fixed to the floor. 9 more lanes are similarly equipped but attached to rolling platforms for use at 10m and 50 feet for smallbore. The range uses 5 computers. One master PC for Sius Data, and Sius Rank and 4 more computers for 10 Lane Command desk. Each PC is running Windows 10. 6 HDTV are placed in the spectator viewing area. 5 of these are for 10 Lane Command desk and one 72″ HDTV is for Sius Rank Scoreboard. All of the TV’s are HDMI connected to the host computer’s HDMI ports.
We are using older versions of HS10 (installed 2012), but purchased and installed SA951 touch screen controllers in November 2021.
Three schools practice on this range. Between them, over 30 matches are conducted each year including USA Junior Olympics, CMP JO qualifier and State matches, 3PAR State Championships, as well as numerous shoulder to shoulder competitions.
All of the software is current as 2/23/2022. For the most part the system is reliable. Sius Rank will sometimes crash after the last shot of the first stage of a 3-P Air Rifle match.
Since we installed the SA951 controllers, there are random occasions when a random lane will not change modes when switching from Sighting Shots to Match, and from Match to Sighting Shots while using SIUS DATA to control all of the lanes.
We also have 2 lanes where the lifter position offset cannot be changed. This was unable to be resolved by Sius tech support in North America visit. Sius Switzerland said, it was not possible to do with the older ATE10 circuitry. But I still wonder how it was accomplished in 2012 by the group that installed this system prior to departing for London to install the Olympic range.
We have replaced almost all of LED light bars as they dim and lose function over time.
There are some enhancements to the software that would make this system even better, but these are specific to matches conducted in North America and also specific to the lifter mechanism and how the firer can adjust the position, without requiring admin level access.
