Switching STYX systems on and off
The Infrastructure Light and 19” models are fitted with an on/off switch. We strongly advise against unplugging these servers without first switching them off using the on/off switch.
All other devices can be switched off directly via a main switch located in the building. However, it must be ensured that all devices have been booted up before switching off. Repeated power cuts during the boot-up process can lead to a fault. Such a fault may necessitate returning the device to SIUS.
An automated power management system (e.g. via PLC) must ensure that Infrastructure Light and 19” units still have to be switched off manually using the on/off switch. A lock-out mechanism following power-up must prevent the automated power management system from switching the devices off within the first 5 minutes.
