LS2550, Dirty target (Warning 165)

If the contamination of a target Laser Score for 25 and 50m LS2550 is too high, a precise shot evaluation is no longer possible.

The contamination can be checked visually at the target and will be indicated in the Range Board in the Health Check with the error number “165” even if the target is heavily contaminated.

If the error message
165: Many sensors have bad quality after Black-White-Adjustment -> clean target and check if any light or object is in target at 2021-05-04 07:51 (UTC);
in the Health Check persists even after thorough cleaning, there may be dirt inside the target.

To check and clean the dirt inside the target, the maintenance video “How to dismantle/mount the SIUS sensor boards of the LS25/50 target” can be consulted. From timestamp 1:55 to 2:34 it is shown how to dismount the two side panels and how to remount them from 2:48 to 3:18.
Dismantling the controller board in the middle and unplugging the cables is not absolutely necessary.

After opening the side parts, the dirt on the back of the filter plastic strips and on the sensor boards can be carefully removed with a soft, long bristled brush and compressed air spray.
